I think I mentioned I was doing this a while back. Check out the whole set for details. I estimate it will hold only 12 and not 24 beers. I need to add one last support beam from the upright to the horizontal bars. The whole thing took two nights and I like the way to turned out. I used some scrap aluminum from an old project and the wood is left over from the Radio Flyer wagon rebuild. All I had to purchase was a bunch of screw and nuts from the hardware store. It holds my clothing bag and laptop for commuting. Everything is strapped down with a spare inner tube.
Final touches: more support like I mentioned, and better quality wood slats that will be stained to match the bike and weather sealed. Also I don’t think my front fender will work on there anymore. Maybe I will build wood fenders? Has to be easier than this. I think I know how to bend wood … I saw it on PBS!

You are a generous man. No man I know would think of putting 24 beers on a bike and plan to drink them alone. 12 would still be a feat.
I have been dreaming of making a batch of homebrew and riding it to Dolores Park, in SF, for all to share. This is a great method of transport!

I just think “number of beers” is a quantity easily identified with. See: http://www.flickr.com/groups/bikescarryingbeers/
