The Chandler city council process was hijacked by a couple of avid bicyclists and despite the engineers recommending a plan that provided street parking the council caved to the bicylists. The parking was designed to benefit the chandler citizens and the merchants in downtown, but the process was railroaded by persons representing less than 1% of the population. This was not a democratic process and is not over yet.
