I drive a car sometimes | I ride a bike because

Today I went on a long drive in my truck for a doctor’s appointment. On the way there I realized something: I am a terrible driver due to lack of practice. Well actually I am a great driver but it does take me a few minutes to orient myself to the game and controls. So much different then biking.

Of course I was immediately annoyed with the other “drivers” on the road. Did you know if you drive the speed limit or less the light will be green when you get there? Which will save you the trouble of having to accelerate again – you will then use less gas and global warming will reverse itself before you get home.

Also when I use my turn signal on the freeway that means I want to change lanes. I let you in. I do it for you all the time. Why do you not do it for me?

When I was at the road rage boiling point a curious thing happened. This guy pulled up real close and I assumed he was going to flip me off or shoot me because he was looking right at me trying to get my attention.

Instead he signaled and yelled that my tire was low and my faith in humanity was temporarily restored.

That faith may be shattered momentarily when the guys here at the tire shop are through inspecting my tires. But I got my bike if all else fails.
