DON’T TOUCH THE BIKE

I went to a coffee house on Mill Ave. to get a quick cup. I had forgotten my bike lock, but I did have a padlock on me, so I attached it to the chainring to prevent any casual thievery. While I was ordering a drink the security guard came in and asked who’s bike is that, I said mine and he said it needed to move I said sorry I’ll take care of that.

When I got outside he had moved my bike (fixed gear, with padlock attached to the chainring – you see where this is going). Long story short he had jammed the lock against the frame, bending the chairing and tweaking a link on the chain making it stiff. Since he was standing right there I asked nicely that he not touch my property.

My question – should I bill them for a chain ring ($30) and chain ($22)? Just need to find the company to complain.
