Now I usually am not a person who cares about clothes. I mean, come on, look at me. The nicest clothes I have were all Christmas gifts. But two things happened recently that I need to tell you about.

First I finally bought the Utilikilt I have been wanting since I stumbled upon the website over a year ago. It did not disappoint. Someday the world will see the folly of pants.

But second and most importantly is my new underwear. Let me take a step back and say I was not planning on spending $20 for a single pair of underwear, nor had I walked in the store even looking for underwear. I was looking for bike shorts, or more specifically another pair of the short bike shorts that you can wear under your shorts for commuting to work (no I don’t wear them all day, just to and from work). But they were $30-60. As I walked in I happened to pass an Under Armour display, and did a double take as I thought there were a pair of bike shorts in a tiny box. Turns out they were the “Men’s HeatGear Boxer Jock” which, I now know, is the greatest invention so far this century.

They are like astronaut underwear. Something you would take on a trip to Mars. Something, I imagine, Darth Vader would have thought were pretty cool and made him forget all about Padme. They make the area that your underwear covers the coolest place on Earth, where as previously it was the swampiest.

These things are designed to support and cool off Pro Athletes, so for an average Joe like me they are a miraculous treat. I will slowly be stocking up so I can wear them every day.
