Well I finally finished the conversion to fixed gear. This bike has been through a lot. Purchased as a geared cross bike, converted to single speed, repainted from ‘bean green’ to red, now a fixed bike. I have ridden this bike almost every day (commuter) since 2002. Fixed gear is a strange experience, comfortable when you are cruising and ‘on step’ – hellacious when you are jumping curbs or tight fast turning.
Final upgrades for this bike: Nitto bars, Paul e-lever and a cool saddle. Maybe a silver headset and seat clamp to match the rest of the bike. maybe better cranks. Oh, and the chainring is showing it’s age…
OK so it is not finished, but a good bike never is.
Just saw this on the Paul site. Maybe I’ll get one of those as well…
