cost of bikes – are bike prices going up due to gas prices?

I am looking for an old cruiser to cannibalize for another project. Funny thing though, the good old $20 used cruiser/cheapo bike market seems to have dried up. $75?? $200?? What the?

Seems only kid’s bikes prices are not affected by this market inflation.

Plus side- if you have an old bike to sell (or several) you should get more than it is worth.
